Alanah Braaksma (Languages Spoken: English)

Alanah is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Architecture at the University of Utah, with plans to obtain her architecture license following graduation. She has a particular interest in small-scale, intentional living and is passionate about the design and innovation of tiny houses.

Outside of her studies, Alanah enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking , shopping, and discovering new coffee shops wherever she goes. She also loves traveling and exploring new places!

Ibrahim Tawalbeh (Languages Spoken: English and Arabic)

BIO: With a degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Jordan, Ibrahim brings global experience and a passion for challenging projects to Uncommon Architects. His work on one of the largest construction projects in the U.S. sharpened his technical skill and problem-solving ability.

Ibrahim’s design philosophy is rooted in form follows function, creating spaces where every line, surface, and material serves a clear purpose. Now based in Utah, he draws inspiration from the mountains and landscapes, designing architecture that feels both grounded and elevating.

Odaly Plancarte (Languages Spoken: English and Spanish)

Odaly completed her undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Utah and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Over the years, she has developed a strong appreciation for architecture as a means of solving design problems—transforming ideas into practical solutions for real people, spaces, and needs.

Her experience primarily lies in industrial architecture, a field she finds both challenging and deeply rewarding. Odaly thrives in collaborative environments, enjoying the process of working with diverse teams to brainstorm and develop solutions that align with client goals. She believes that the best ideas emerge when multiple perspectives come together.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of her work is seeing a project come to life during construction. Watching detailed drawings evolve into fully functioning spaces is, for Odaly, one of the most satisfying parts of the architectural process.

Outside of architecture, Odaly enjoys Latin dancing and engaging in meaningful conversations about life, creativity, and big ideas—interests that keep her grounded and creatively inspired.
