Andy earned his Bachelor's in Building Construction Technology as well as dual Master's degrees in Sustainable Building Systems and Architecture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He brings deep technical knowledge along with years of experience to the team at Uncommon. Andy has diverse experience including large scale hospital projects, LEED gold commercial, historic renovation, structural engineering, and even a Cyclotron facility. His passion is in architecture that benefits the needs of the many be it through sustainable design or elevated spirit of user experience.

Outside of architecture Andy seldom spends his free time indoors; in the winter he is an avid ski mountaineer, opting to climb mountains with skins or crampons to chase his turns. In the summers he runs ultra marathons through the mountains, typically in an unsupported fashion. High in the alpine during the summer or low in the valley during fall Andy ties into a rope and explores the vertical terrain of the mountain west. Notable accomplishments include; The Matterhorn via Hornli Ridge, a single day ascent and ski descent of Mount Rainier as well as many other Cascadian volcanos, multiple ascents of the Grand Teton, an unroped ski descent of Medusa Face on Mount Olympus, the North Arete of EIllingwood in the Wind River Range, a single day traverse of the Pemigewasset loop, and a 3-year streak of 100-day ski seasons.
